Free website and
email domain audit

How healthy is your website — really?

A free, written report on your website and email domain: what it runs on, when things are due for renewal, how secure it is, whether your email can be forged, how you come across to customers and AI search and what it could be doing for you automatically. Then we follow up with our recommendations and exactly what we can do for you.

  • Free for any UK business
  • A branded PDF of around fifteen pages
  • Read and checked by a person before it is sent
  • Followed by our recommendations for what we can do
  • Nothing is changed or tested on your site

What the report covers

Eight sections, each scored and explained in plain English, then a prioritised list of what to do first.

01

How it is built

The platform, plugins, hosting company and where the server is — and anything out of date or unsupported.

02

Domain and renewals

When your domain and security certificate renew, who they are registered with and who controls your DNS.

03

Website security

HTTPS, the browser protections a site should send, exposed software versions and unprotected forms.

04

Email and your domain

SPF, DKIM and DMARC: whether someone could send email as you and why your own mail may land in spam.

05

Search and AI visibility

How easily Google and AI assistants like ChatGPT can find you, understand you and describe you correctly.

06

How you come across

A first-time visitor's view: is it clear what you do, is there reason to trust you and is the next step obvious?

07

Speed and accessibility

Google's own mobile speed and accessibility scores, with what is slowing the site down.

08

What it does on its own

Booking, payments, chat, reviews, enquiries — what is already automated and where it would help most.

How it works

01

Request and confirm

Fill in the form and click the link we email you. That confirms the address and starts the audit.

02

We run the audit

We read the public side of your site and domain, then Simon reads every report before it goes out.

03

Download your report

You get an email with a private link to your PDF, usually within one working day.

04

We tell you what we can do

Then we follow up with our own recommendations: which of the fixes we can take on for you, how we would go about them and what it would cost, in writing. No obligation.

What we do not do

We only read what any visitor's browser can see, plus your public DNS records and domain registration. We do not log in, try passwords, scan ports or submit forms. Nothing on your site is changed. You do not need to give us any access.

Who reads your report

Simon Lambert reads every report before it is sent. He has been building and running business systems since the late 1980s, including years advising organisations on disaster recovery and business continuity. Where something in your report needs a person's judgement rather than a tool's, it gets it.

Questions about the free audit

Is the website audit really free? What is the catch?

Yes, completely free, with no card details. It is the best way we know of showing what we do: once you have your report we send our own recommendations and a written quote for anything you would like us to take on. You are under no obligation — the report is yours either way.

Who is the audit for?

Any UK business or charity with a website, from sole traders to established firms. It is most useful if you are not sure who set your site up, when things renew or whether it is still secure — which is most businesses we speak to.

What does the audit check?

Eight areas: how the site is built and hosted, domain and certificate renewals, website security, whether your email can be forged, search and AI visibility, trust and the legal basics, speed and accessibility and what the site already does for you automatically. Then a prioritised list of what to fix first.

How long does it take and what do I receive?

Usually within one working day of confirming your email address. You get a link to a branded PDF of around fifteen pages: a score for each area, every finding explained in plain English and a list of what to do first, in order.

Can ChatGPT not just do this for me?

ChatGPT can read your homepage and comment on the wording. It cannot see your DNS records, your domain's renewal date, your certificate or the headers your server sends — the things that decide whether your site and email are safe. We use AI for part of the written analysis, every measurement comes from real checks and a person reads the whole report before you see it.

Do you need access to my website or any passwords?

No. Everything we check is public: the same things any visitor's browser or a domain lookup can see. We never ask for logins and you do not need to tell your web designer.

Will running the audit affect my website?

No. We read your homepage and a couple of the pages it links to, much as a single visitor would. We do not scan ports, try passwords or submit forms. Nothing on your site is changed.

Can I do a website audit myself?

Partly. Google's PageSpeed Insights will test speed and free DNS tools will show your SPF and DMARC records if you know what to look for. The value of ours is having it all in one place, explained plainly and put in the order that matters for your business.

Can someone really send email pretending to be my business?

Often, yes. Unless your domain publishes SPF, DKIM and an enforcing DMARC policy, anyone can send email that appears to come from your address. Most small business domains we check are not fully protected. The audit tells you exactly where yours stands and what to change.

Is there any obligation afterwards?

None. We follow up once with our recommendations and a written quote. If you would rather fix things yourself or with whoever built your site, that is fine — the report is written so that anyone can act on it.

Do I need a local company to fix what it finds?

No. Any competent developer can act on the report. If you are in Warwickshire or nearby we are happy to talk it through in person; further afield it works just as well on a video call.

Can you audit a site that is not mine?

The audit only reads public information, but each report goes to the person who asked for it and we read every request before anything is sent. If it is a competitor's site, we would rather not.
